As Broadway warms up for the opening of its second swing music-based musical, Toronto will be extending one of theirs, the Dean Regan musical big band musical revue, Forever Swing. The song and dance production, originally slated to close Nov. 14 will extend through Dec. 31 at the Winter Garden Theatre.
A revue created by the man behind A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline, Forever Swing features classic 30's and 40's tunes like "In The Mood," "I've Got A Gal In Kalamazoo," "Begin The Beguine," "Flight of the Bumble Bee," "It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing," "I'll Never Smile Again," "Pennsylvania 6-5000" and, of course, the swing perennial, "Sing, Sing, Sing."
Swinging in the show are Sara Brenner, Michael Buble, Sue Gar, Lizzie Kurtz, Stephen Lilly, Jon Ross, Sam Strasfeld, Debbie Timuss, Jesse Weaver and Michelle E. White.
Tauropro Entertainment/Lutvick Productions International and Rogers Communications, Inc. are producing. Tickets for Forever Swing are $75-$25 and available by calling Ticketmaster at (416) 872-5555. Forever Swing is on the web at http://www.taurpro.com.
