On August 23, the cast of Broadway’s Come From Away performed “Screech In” live on the set of Good Morning America.

While the show has performed the more oft-seen opening number “Welcome to the Rock” on many of the talk shows, the new musical offered a taste of this number, which comes later in the 100-minute show.

Nominated for seven 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Come From Away is the story of the passengers of 38 plans all re-routed to Gander, Newfoundland, in Canada when U.S. airspace closed due to the September 11 terrorist attacks. A “9/12 story,” Come From Away emphasizes hope in the face of adversity and the message that the kindness of strangers will heal us all. Written by David Hein and Irene Sankoff, directed by Tony winner Christopher Ashley, and choreographed by Kelly Devine, the original musical has welcomed many celebrity guests and political figures to its audience.
