"We are delighted to celebrate the birthday of one of the most beloved movies of all time at this year’s Oscars,” said Zadan and Meron in a statement.
“The Wizard of Oz” received six Oscar nominations, winning two for Original Score and Song.
As previously reported, the awards show, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, will also honor real-life heroes, super heroes, popular heroes and animated heroes — both past and present — as well as the filmmakers who bring them to life.
The Academy Awards will be televised live on the ABC Television Network.
