Fiery Angel and Trafalgar Theatre Productions present a London return of Patrick Barlow's adaptation of The 39 Steps, based on John Buchan's novel and Alfred Hitchcock's film, beginning August 16 at Trafalgar Theatre in London's West End. The revival is the play's first since 2015, with a seven-week engagement set to run through September 28.

Nicola Samer directs the production, a remount of the award-winning staging helmed by Maria Aitken.

The cast includes Tom Byrne as Richard Hannay, Safeena Ladha as Pamela/Annabella/Margaret, Eugene McCoy as Clown 1, and Maddie Rice as Clown 2. Understudies Jacob Daniels and Hannah Parker round out the company.

The 39 Steps follows handsome hero Richard Hannay as he encounters murders, double-crossing secret agents, and devastatingly beautiful women—all played by a cast of just four. The work initially played in the West End from 2006 to 2015, and received the 2007 Olivier Award for Best Comedy. A subsequent Broadway production ran from 2008 to 2010, before transferring to New World Stages Off-Broadway.

The creative team includes set and costume designer Peter McKintosh, lighting designer Ian Scott, sound designer Mic Pool, and director of movement Toby Sedgwick. Casting is by Abby Galvin.
