The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre has brought the new bio-musical Summer: The Donna Summer Musical to Broadway after a run at the La Jolla Playhouse. Previews began on March 28, and it officially opens on April 23. It stars Storm Lever as Duckling Donna, Ariana DeBose (A Bronx Tale) as Disco Donna, and LaChanze (The Color Purple) as Diva Donna.
The musical tells the story of Donna Summer through three stages of her life with three different performers, from growing up in Boston to the legendary artist she became.

Summer: The Donna Summer Musical is directed by Des McAnuff. The cast also consists of Aaron Krohn as Neil Bogart and Gunther, Ken Robinson as Andrew Gaines, and Jared Zirilli as Bruce Sudano.
The Broadway production team includes choreography by Sergio Trujillo, costumes by Paul Tazewell, lighting by Howell Binkley, sound by Gareth Owen, and lyrics and music by Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, and Paul Jabara.
