NYU Skirball is set to present the North American premiere of Showgirl October 18 and 19 at 7:30 PM. The work is written and performed by Marlène Saldana and Jonathan Drillet, and co-presented with L'Alliance New York as part of the 2024 Crossing the Line Festival.

Showgirl is loosely based on the 1995 Paul Verhoeven film Showgirls, which explores Hollywood's treatment of actresses through the story of a Las Vegas dancer. Showgirl's concept and text are by Saldana and Drillet.

Saldana plays numerous characters in the production, which also features original music by Rebeka Warrior.

Showgirl originally premiered at Théâtre Saint Gervais in Geneva in 2021.
