The concert will spotlight the music of Tony-winning composer Coleman, who once admired that "Michelle Lee is a surefire powerhouse performer. She embraces a lyric like nobody can.”
The show will include songs like "Nobody Does It Like Me" and "It's Not Where You Start" from Lee's Tony-nominated performance in Seesaw. It will also feature a range of classics from the Coleman songbook including "Big Spender," "The Best is Yet to Come" and "Witchcraft."
In a celebration of his life and music, Lee honors what would have been Coleman's 86th birthday. Among his Broadway musicals are Little Me, City of Angels, Barnum, The Will Rogers Follies, I Love My Wife, The Life and On the Twentieth Century, the latter of which is currently in the midst of a Broadway revival.
Lee will be accompanied by a quintet led by musical director Ron Abel.
