Performances will continue through March 14 at the Millburn, NJ, venue. This staging is a co-production of Paper Mill, Cleveland Play House and Maltz Jupiter Theatre in Florida. The cast is headed by Rosemary Prinz (Grandma), J. Anthony Crane (Louis), Sara Surrey (Bella), John Plumpis (Eddie), Patricia Buckley (Gert), Alex Wyse (Jay) and Maxwell Beer (Arty).
Lost in Yonkers, according to press notes, is described as such: "Set during World War II, brothers Arty and Jay are sent to live with their frightfully intimidating Grandma and sweet but mentally slow Aunt Bella, punctuated by visits from their 'gangster' Uncle Louie. This masterwork is an unsentimental examination of lives in an oppressive household, climaxing with dramatic confrontation between the bitter mother and lonely daughter."
The production features scenic design by Michael Schweikhardt, costume design by David Kay Mickelsen, lighting design by Paul Miller and sound design by Ken Travis. The production stage manager is Barbara Reo.
Tickets may be purchased by calling (973) 376-4343, or at the Paper Mill Box Office on Brookside Drive in Millburn, or online at www.papermill.org.
