PlayBlog Playwrights Are Subject of Brooklyn Gallery Exhibit While most theatregoers can identify their favorite plays, few would recognize their favorite playwrights on the street. Get to Brooklyn for a visual refresher course. Umbrage Gallery is currently displaying an exhibit of photographs by Ken Collins that capture the faces behind theatre's most powerful voices.

"In Their Company" is currently on exhibit through Oct. 31 at the gallery in the DUMBO neighborhood. Collins photographed playwrights including Tony Kushner, John Patrick Shanley, Lisa Kron, Anna Deveare Smith, Adam Rapp and Edward Albee for the black-and-white project. A book of the same title is also available.

In addition, The Play Company will host "Face to Face: Portraits in Theatre & Photography" on Oct. 26 at 7 PM at New Dramatists (321 W. 44th Street). Collins will join playwrights Kia Corthron, ?Lisa Kron and Adam Rapp to discuss "how they approach creating portraits on stage and with a camera." Excerpts of the playwrights' work will also be performed. Phone (212) 398-2977 for reservations to the event.

"In Their Company" is at the Umbrage Gallery, located at 111 Front Street, Suite 208 in Brooklyn.
