PIX11 and The Broadway Channel will co-produce "Broadway Profiles," a quarterly primetime program to air exclusively on PIX11. The first of four co-produced, 30-minute specials will air in late May as a lead up to the 2014 Tony Awards. Subsequent specials will air throughout the Broadway season.
Beginning March 15, PIX11 News will air "What's Hot on Broadway," a weekly segment hosted by PIX11 anchor Tamsen Fadal, covering what's trending on Broadway. The original on-air content will be housed and live streamed at PIX11.com/Broadway.
Additionally, the hashtag #PIX11onBroadway has been created to engage fans through social media.
"New York is home to Broadway, and as a station with deep roots in the New York arts community, PIX11 is excited to establish a partnership with The Broadway Channel," said Rich Graziano, president and GM of PIX11, in a statement. "Together we will take viewers behind the curtain and bring theater fans the very the best Broadway has to offer."
Matthew Hege, vice president of The Broadway Channel, added, "Together we will shine the bright lights of Broadway onto new audiences." For more information, visit PIX11.com or BroadwayChannel.com.
