Divas, which Palmer also conceived and created, played an extended run in Los Angeles before moving to its current midtown Manhattan home, only blocks away from the Broadway theatres where his various divas originally made their names. The show officially opens Feb. 27 following previews that began Feb. 13. The engagement is open-ended.
Described by press notes as "a fast-paced musical journey of one man's love of musical theatre and the amazing women that have made their mark on Broadway," Palmer's work "brings to life such legends as Ethel Merman, Carol Channing, Liza Minnelli, Angela Lansbury, Julie Andrews and Chita Rivera and such Tony-winning stars of today as Christine Ebersole, Patti LuPone, Sutton Foster, Kristin Chenoweth and Beth Leavel, all while performing 25 songs in each lady's singular style."
Tickets are available at www.telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200. Visit www.fabdivas.com for further information and a performance schedule.
