Original The Warriors cast member and musician Thomas G. Waites will stage his autobiographical rock monologue Lucky Man–A Warrior’s Journey this June. Backed up by Waites' band Heartbreak Waites and directed by Joe Danisi, Lucky Man will play a strictly limited engagement beginning June 5 at the Gene Frankel Theatre, running through June 22.

The show, which is produced by Emmy and Golden Globe winner John Goodman and Evan Azriliant, sees Waites ripping the curtain wide open on his journey to fame and his swift flameout. Beginning with his expulsion from Juilliard's Drama Division in 1976, the show tracks his sudden stardom in his early 20s as a part of On the Yard, The Warriors, …And Justice for All, The Thing, and more, before alcohol destroyed his career, marriage, and family. The show, which culminates in the redemption he has found through Alcoholics Anonymous, is not directly associated with the 12-step program.

“Lucky Man is the kind of story we all need right now—a raw, honest ride through darkness toward redemption. It’s about falling down hard and getting up stronger. Thomas’s journey is personal, powerful, and packed with heart. I’m proud to help bring it to the stage," said Goodman

Waites' backing band, Heartbreak Waites, includes music director and guitarist Tony Daniels; keyboardist, percussionist, and vocalist Cedric Allen Hills; and vocalist Annie McGovern. Set design will be by Elle Kunnos de Voss. Lucky Man is produced by Without A Net Productions.
