Night Stories, featuring four tales by late Yiddish poet Avrom Sutzkever, will make its Off-Broadway bow at the Wild Project December 17-January 11, 2026.
Directed by Moshe Yassur with Beate Hein Bennett, the play co-stars Shane Baker and Miryem-Khaye Seigel.
The production arrives in New York following a South American tour through São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires. Original music is composed by Uri Schreter.
Night Stories, which is presented in Yiddish with English supertitles, features Sutzkever's Where the Stars Spend the Night, A Child’s Hands, Lupus, and Portrait in Blue Sweater. Sutzkever, who passed away in 2010, was dubbed “the greatest poet of the Holocaust” by The New York Times.
The upcoming production is presented by the Congress for Jewish Culture.
