Elf—The Musical features a score by The Wedding Singer's Matthew Sklar (music) and Chad Beguelin (lyrics) and a book co-authored by The Drowsy Chaperone's Bob Martin and Annie's Tom Meehan. Phil Reno is music director.

Casey Nicholaw received Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for his work on The Drowsy Chaperone as well as Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for Best Choreography for Spamalot. He also directed and choreographed the Encores! production of Follies and choreographed the Encores! production of Bye Bye Birdie and the New York Philharmonic staging of Candide as well as the Carnegie Hall presentation of South Pacific.
