The as-of-yet untitled work will be part of the Twyla Tharp Dance season, which is scheduled to run July 11-23 at the Chelsea venue. Matthew Dibble, who was seen in the recent tour celebrating Tharp's 50th anniversary, will star in the new work, which is set to Beethoven's Op. 130 string quartet in six movements.
The upcoming season at the Joyce, where Tharp is artist in residence, will also include two of her earlier works, Country Dances (1976) and Brahms Paganini (1980).
Tharp won a 2003 Tony Award for Best Choreography for Movin' Out, which utilized the songs of Billy Joel.
