Invisible Wall Productions has announced casting for the Off-Broadway debut of The View Upstairs. Inspired by one of the most significant, but rarely spoken about attacks against the LGBTQ community, the new musical examines what has been lost and gained in the fight for equality.

Performances of The View Upstairs are set to begin February 15 at Culture Project – The Lynn Redgrave Theater. The new musical is written by Max Vernon and directed by Scott Ebersold. An official opening night is scheduled for February 26.

The cast of The View Upstairs will be made up of Jeremy Pope (Invisible Thread), Taylor Frey (How to Succeed…), Nathan Lee Graham (Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Frenchie Davis (Rent), Benjamin Howes (Scandalous), Michael Longoria (Jersey Boys), Ben Mayne, Doreen Montalvo (On Your Feets), Randy Redd (Million Dollar Quartet), Richard E. Waits, and Anthony Alfaro.

Here’s how Invisible Wall Productions outlines the new show: ”The View Upstairs pulls you inside the UpStairs Lounge, a vibrant ‘70s gay bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans. This forgotten community comes to life in all its gritty, glam rock glory when a young fashion designer from 2017 buys the abandoned space, setting off an exhilarating journey of seduction and self-exploration that spans two generations of queer history.”

Performances will continue through May 21.
