The 6 PM event, held at the Museum of the City of New York, features a performance by two-time Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago, Sweet Charity) and appearances by Jill Eikenberry (Onward Victoria) and Michael Tucker (The Goodbye People). A reception will follow the presentation.

The Louis Auchincloss Prize is presented to writers and artists whose work is "inspired by and enhances the five boroughs of New York City. Disciplines include literature, architecture, art, music, playwriting, and photography. The Prize honors Louis Auchincloss (1917–2010) for his many years of service to the Museum of the City of New York as well as for his literary contributions that established him as one of the leading American novelists of the 20th and 21st centuries."

Past recipients include lyricist Sheldon Harnick; Ada Louise Huxtable, for her architectural criticism; Pete Hamill, for his literary contributions; and photographer Elliott Erwitt. Louis Auchincloss accepted the first prize himself in 2007.

Under Meadow's artistic leadership, MTC has produced five David Lindsay-Abaire plays, including Rabbit Hole; six plays by Donald Margulies, including Time Stands Still and Sight Unseen; Lynn Nottage's Ruined; nine plays by John Patrick Shanley, including Doubt; two plays by David Auburn, including Proof; nine plays by Terrence McNally, including Love! Valour! Compassion! and Lisbon Traviata; five plays by Beth Henley, including Crimes of the Heart; seven plays by Alan Ayckbourn, including Woman in Mind and Absent Friends; Stephen Sondheim's Putting It Together; Ain't Misbehavin'; and Ashes by David Rudkin.

Last season, Meadow produced four productions on Broadway: Terrence McNally's Master Class (Tony nomination for Best Revival of a Play), David Ives' Venus in Fur (Tony nominations for Best Play and Best Actress), Margaret Edson's Wit, which Meadow directed (Tony nominations for Best Revival of a Play and Best Actress), and David Auburn's The Columnist (Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Play). This season, she is a producer on Broadway's An Enemy of the People and will produce The Other Place and The Assembled Parties. The Museum of the City of New York is located at 1220 Fifth Avenue.
