American Ballet Theatre, the Misty Copeland Foundation, and Lincoln Center have announced that Misty Copeland's final performance with ABT will be streamed live to Alice Tully Hall. Copeland will say her farewell at the company's fall gala October 22 at the David H. Koch Theater.

Free tickets to the livestream will be distributed on the day of the event beginning at 4 PM at the Alice Tully Hall box office. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of two tickets per person.

The gala performance will include selections from Copeland's repertoire, including excerpts from Romeo and JulietSwan Lake, and George Balanchine's Theme and Variations. The evening will also feature special tributes from Debbie Allen and Oprah Winfrey.

Misty Copeland joined the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company in 2000, and the ABT corps de ballet in 2001. She was promoted to soloist in 2007, and to principal dancer in 2015, becoming the first Black female principal dancer in the company's history. That same year she made her Broadway debut, when she joined the cast of On the Town in the role of Ivy Smith. Copeland's farewell performance will also be her first appearance on stage in five years.

In 2021, Copeland established the Misty Copeland Foundation, with the mission of providing children in under-resourced communities to engage with dance and ballet. The foundation's BE BOLD dance initiative now conducts after-school programs at 15 community organization sites in the Bronx and Harlem. In 2025, the foundation launched BE BOLDER, a ballet-based wellness program aimed at adults aged 50 and older. Students from both programs will be invited to attend the simulcast, along with members of several of the foundation's partner organizations.

American Ballet Theatre's fall season runs October 15-November 1 at the David H. Koch Theater. Visit ABT.org for more information.
