Two-time Academy Award-winning film star Elizabeth Taylor was born February 27, 1932.
Though known for her film work, Taylor appeared twice on the Main Stem, both in the early 1980s. In 1981, she made her anticipated Broadway debut in a revival of Lillian Hellman’s The Little Foxes at the Martin Beck Theatre (now the Al Hirschfeld Theatre), for which she received a Tony nomination. She returned in a 1983 staging of Noel Coward's Private Lives, playing opposite real-life ex-husband Richard Burton.
