Cast Recordings & Albums Listen to Never-Before-Heard Song Cut From Dear Evan Hansen Rachel Bay Jones and Jennifer Laura Thompson perform “In the Bedroom Down the Hall.”

In celebration of the Dear Evan Hansen special edition vinyl release, the show has given fans a chance to hear the never-before-heard song “In the Bedroom Down the Hall” by Oscar and Tony Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Listen to the song, performed by Tony winner Rachel Bay Jones and Jennifer Laura Thompson, in the video above.

Composers Pasek and Paul had previously given Dear Evan Hansen fans a sneak peek at the song earlier this year. “Bedroom Down the Hall” was written to be performed by the show's two moms, Heidi Hansen (Jones) and Cynthia Murphy (Thompson).

The Tony-winning Broadway musical will see the departure of its title star, Ben Platt, at the end of the week. Platt’s final performance will be November 19 at 3 PM, and Noah Galvin will step in November 21. Following Galvin's run, Dear Evan Hansen will welcome Hello, Dolly! star Taylor Trensch, who will take over beginning mid-January 2018.

Original cast members Laura Dreyfuss, Jones, Thompson, Mike Faist, Michael Park, and Will Roland have all extended their contracts and will remain with the show through May 2018. Kristolyn Lloyd will depart in March.

Dear Evan Hansen features a score by Pasek and Paul (Dogfight, A Christmas Story), a book by Tony winner Steven Levenson (Masters of Sex), choreography by Danny Mefford (Fun Home), and direction by multiple Tony nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, If/Then).

The two-sided Dear Evan Hansen vinyl 12” is available beginning November 17 and features the new track. “In the Bedroom Down the Hall” will also be released digitally and will be available for streaming and download at all digital service providers.

A special edition coffee table book from Pasek, Paul, and Levenson, Dear Evan Hansen: through the window will also be released by Grand Central Publishing on November 21.
