Fred Hanson directs the musical adaptation of the epic Victor Hugo novel penned by Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schönberg and Herbert Kretzmer. Performances will continue through April 5 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Evan and Hunt, both veterans of the Broadway production of Les Miserables, portray Jean Valjean and Javert, respectively, with Andrea Rivette (Miss Saigon) as Fantine.
Additional Broadway Les Miz veterans appearing in the Houston production are Leah Horowitz as Cosette, Ed Dixon as Thenardier, Mary Gutzi as Madame Thenardier and Anderson Davis as Marius. The TUTS engagement also features Sarah Shahinian as Eponine and Ed Watts as Enjolras with newcomers Maddie Dyer and Mallory Bechtel alternating in the role of Young Cosette and Young Eponine, and Sam Linda as Gavroche.
The Les Miserables ensemble includes Siri Howard, Jen Sese, Margaret Kelly, Robyn Payne, Anita Vasan, Nina Sturtz, Shawna M. Hamic, Jennifer Semrick, C. Mingo Long, David Weitzer, Cole Burden, Jason Ostrowski, Kevin Reed, Devin Ilaw, Jeremy Hays, Andrew Foote, Craig Foster, Kyle Dean Reinford, Kristopher Stanley Ward and Christopher Deaton.
The design team includes Matt Kinley (scenic design), John Demous (lighting design), Kit Bond (sound design), Zachary Borovay (projection design) and Robert Billig (musical director/conductor).
