Tony Award nominee Larry Marshall will rejoin the Broadway company of Waitress beginning January 7. He steps back into the role of Joe, having previously played the part in 2017 on Broadway and in the musical’s national tour.

Marshall, a Tony nominee for Porgy and Bess and an alum of such Broadway musicals as The Color Purple, The Full Monty, and Hair, replaces June Squibb, who has given the role a female twist (renamed Josie) since November 19.

January 7 will also mark the return of another Waitress alum: the show’s Tony- and Grammy-nominated composer, Sara Bareilles. Starring alongside her for a limited engagement through February 3 is Tony and Olivier winner Gavin Creel.

The current cast also includes Charity Angel Dawson as Becky, Lenne Klingaman as Dawn, Ben Thompson as Earl, Benny Elledge as Cal, and Christopher Fitzgerald as Ogie.
