According to ETOnline, Chenoweth will perform a song penned by her Tony-nominated You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown collaborator, composer-lyricist Andrew Lippa. Chenoweth's Tony-winning performance in that show was anchored by the show-stopping Lippa song "My New Philosophy."

Her song in "Descendants" is described as a "dramatic showstopper" in which Chenoweth warns her daughter about inheriting her own evil throne. It is also reported that the Alan Menken-Howard Ashman song "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast will get a hip-hop, a cappella make-over in the film. The film, which is set in a present-day kingdom, focuses on good-hearted Ben (son of the Beast and Belle), who is poised to take over the throne. His first act as King is to offer a chance of redemption to the children of some major villains. They include Carlos (son of Cruella De Vil), Mal (daughter of Maleficent), Evvie (daughter of the Evil Queen) and Jay (son of Jafar), who have all been imprisoned on a forbidden island with other villains from the Disney canon.

Chenoweth won the Tony Award in 1999 for her performance in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. She was nominated in 2004 for her performance as Glinda in the original company of Wicked and has also been seen on Broadway in Steel Pier, Epic Proportions, The Apple Tree and Promises, Promises. She is also known for film and television work, including "Glee," "Pushing Daisies," "The West Wing" and the recent ABC series "GCB." She has also been a guest judge on "American Idol."
