At The Barre, a new musical by SMJ, Natalie Myrick, and Sarah Flaim, will receive a concert staging April 23 at cabaret venue Green Room 42.
The concert will star Jordan Donica, Holly Gould, Heath Saunders, Marina Pires, and Myrick, as well as Michael Schimmele, Chloé Lexia Worthington, Emilia Ibarra, and Eros Alen. The concert will be music directed by Alex Goldie Golden.
At The Barre centers on Catherine, a queer prima ballerina, and Shawn, a non-binary street mime. Set to an indie pop–inspired score, the pair struggle to connect through the haze of dysmorphia, grief, and doubt.
Developed through the Latiné Musical Theatre Lab, The Sappho Project, Access Theater, Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, Dragon’s Egg Studio, and Theater for the New City, At The Barre's concert presentation will also be live streamed.
