Broadway’s Jeff Hayenga (Junk, Harvey, The Man Who Came to Dinner) and Candy Buckley (Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson, After the Fall, Thoroughly Modern Millie) are set to star as a middle-aged hippie couple from the Upper West Side in the New York premiere of Max Baker’s Hal & Bee, a dark comedy about love, addiction, and the possibility of growing old with someone.
Hayenga replaces the previously announced John Glover, who had to depart the production due to scheduling conflicts.
Hal & Bee will begin performances March 10 for a limited engagement through March 31 at 59E59 Theaters. Sarah Norris directs a cast that also includes Lisa Jill Anderson and Ian Poake, who were both seen in Baker’s play The Conspiracists.
Hal & Bee is produced by Stable Cable Lab Co. and New Light Theater Project. Opening night is March 14.
