Hazelle Goodman, perhaps best known for her role as Cookie the prostitute in Woody Allen's "Deconstructing Harry," brings her acclaimed one woman show, Hazelle: To the Top, Top, Top! to Joe's Pub at the Public Theater, Aug. 18-Sept. 2. Drawing on her HBO special, the pub gig in Manhattan will introduce a comic collage of urban characters in a New York City neighborhood, based on Goodman's experiences and observations.
Actress-comedian Goodman was a series regular on NBC's "Homicide" (as drug lord Georgia Rae Mahoney). In 1998, she was the Queen in the Public Theater's Cymbeline at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park.
Official press opening for To the Top is Aug. 23.
Performances are 8:30 PM Aug. 18, 19, 25 and 26, and Sept. 1 & 2. All tickets are $15.
Joe's Pub is off the lobby of the Public Theater, 425 Lafayette Street. Call (212) 239-6200.
