Jasmine Cephas Jones, who originated the role of Peggy Schuyler in the Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of the musical Hamilton, plays her final performance in the role December 8.
One of the dwindling number of original cast members remaining with the show, Jones may have had the least prominent role of the three Schuyler sisters (alongside Renée Elise Goldsberry and Phillipa Soo), but achieved a fame of her own from the phrase “and Peggy” in the song “The Schuyler Sisters.” She doubles in the role of Maria Reynolds, Alexander Hamilton’s mistress.
Jones, who made her Broadway debut in the show, announced the news in a tweet, saying, “Thank you for the most life changing 2 years”:

Jones did not tweet out her future plans.
She did, however, post this farewell photo on Instagram:
During the show's run, Jones made a memorable appearance in one of the show’s #Ham4Ham mini-concerts, singing Fanny Brice’s “My Man”:
Asked who would be succeeding Jones in the role, a production spokesperson said, “We have nothing to report at this time.” Elizabeth Judd is listed in the Playbill as her understudy.
