The new play The Nap by Richard Bean, the playwright behind One Man, Two Guvnors, officially opens September 27 and runs until November 11 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

Directed by Daniel Sullivan, the Manhattan Theatre Club production features Ben Schnetzer, John Ellison Conlee, and Johanna Day.

The Nap is a comedy about the British version of pool, called snooker. Dylan Spokes (Schnetzer) is a fast-rising young star who arrives at the championship tournament and finds authorities warning him of the repercussions of match fixing. Dylan’s forced into underhanded dealings with a cast of wildly colorful characters that include his ex-convict dad (Conlee), saucy mum (Day), quick-tongued manager and a renowned gangster, to boot.

The cast also features Ahmed Aly Elsayed as Abdul Fattah and Baghawi Quereshi, Alexandra Billings as Waxy Bush, Ethan Hova as the Referee/Seth, Heather Lind as Eleanor Lavery, Max Gordon Moore as Tony DanLino and the MC, Bhavesh Patel as Mohammed Butt, and Thomas Jay Ryan as Danny Killeen.

The creative team includes David Rockwell (set design), Kaye Voyce (costume design), Justin Townsend (lighting design), and Lindsay Jones (original music and sound design).
