News Father Confessor Is in the Hot Seat in Hudson Stage World Premiere of Salvation Oct. 29-Nov. 13 Hudson Stage, the Westchester County Equity theatre company, launches the world premiere of James McLindon's Salvation, a dark comedy about a confession to a Catholic priest, on Oct. 29.

Giovanna Sardelli directs the four-actor play, which officially opens Oct. 30 at Hudson Stage's home at Woodward Hall Theatre, 235 Elm Road at Pace University in Briarcliff Manor, NY. Performances play to Nov. 13. According to Hudson Stage, "Blue-collar Irish American and Boston-bred Jack (played by Paul Carlin) took to heart his second grade nun's teaching that no matter how evil a life he led, he could still go to heaven provided he made a perfect deathbed confession. Will the summoned priest, Fr. Gallagher (Obie nominee John FitzGibbon), be able to offer heavenly salvation as he encounters the most bizarre confession of his career?"

Josh Barrett (of the NYU MFA acting program) plays Barty, Jack's son — "an aspiring artist and practicing Buddhist, much to Jack's consternation." The cast also features Jack O'Connell.

Performances play 8 PM Friday and Saturdays, plus Sunday matinees Oct. 31 at 3 PM, Nov. 7 at 3 PM (Q&A with artists following), plus a Saturday matinee Nov. 13 at 3 PM. For tickets, call Smarttix at (877) 238-5596 or visit www.hudsonstage.com.
