Playbill On-Line, an internationally-known website devoted to the American theatre, has one part-time, unpaid internship available to a college student interested in theatre and/or on-line journalism.
College credit is offered for the editorial department position, min. 14 hours per week.
The position is available for the fall semester (Sep-Dec 2001). Applications are accepted via snail-mail hardcopy and must arrive at our office no later than July 27. Please do not call. Please note that the location of the internship will be in Woodside, Queens, rather than Manhattan.
Responsibilities:
Sorting and filing press releases, photos and other theatre-related material
Scanning and cropping photos used in online news stories
Coordinating and posting theatre listings
Researching news & feature stories
Writing occasional news pieces
Assisting with special projects (e.g., Countdown to Curtain; photo montages)
Requirements:
Typing: 45+ wpm
Familiarity with PC or Mac computer environment
Familiarity with the internet & Playbill On-Line
Interest in theatre and on-line journalism
Desktop or website experience extra-helpful
