New musical The Crinolynns will receive a world premiere concert September 30 at Carey Performing Arts Center at Saint Vincent's College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
Presented by Greensburg's Stage Right! and their GhostLight initiative, the concert will be led by Broadway alums Donna Lynne Champlin (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Sally Mayes (She Loves Me), and Valerie Wright (Kimberly Akimbo).
With a book and lyrics by Scott Logdson and music by Aaron Gandy, the musical centers on The Crinolynns, a fictional '60s girl group. Forty years after stepping out of the spotlight, the girls are back with a new act about life after high school, with songs in the style of The Crystals, The Chiffons, Carole King, and more. Press notes describe the show as a mix between Forever Plaid and The Golden Girls.
