Daphne Rubin-Vega, Stephanie Beatriz, and Dascha Polanco Join In the Heights Movie

Tony nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent), Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and Dascha Polanco (Orange is the new Black) will star in the upcoming film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes' Tony-winning musical, In the Heights. Rubin-Vega will play Daniela, Beatriz will play Carla, and Polanco will play Cuca.

They join the recently announced Gregory Diaz IV (Broadway's Matilda) as Sonny and Jimmy Smits (Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, How to Get Away With Murder) as Kevin Rosario.

As previously reported, the Jon M. Chu-directed movie will star Hamilton alum Anthony Ramos as Usnavi, Tony nominee Corey Hawkins as Benny, Melissa Barrera as Vanessa, and Leslie Grace as Nina.

The Warner Bros. project, featuring a screenplay by Hudes, is set to arrive in theatres June 26, 2020.
