Cynthia Erivo, who took home the 2016 Tony Award for her performance as Celie in the Broadway revival of The Color Purple, will play an intimate concert in London later this week. Details, including a time and place, will be revealed soon.

Erivo, who is currently in London following her Tony-winning run in The Color Purple, announced the news on Periscope and shared to her other social platforms.

“We have the details, but we will get them to you later,” she said. “That will happen probably today or tomorrow. I wanted to do something really special, just because I haven’t seen you guys for a while here, and I haven’t been able to do that because I’ve been in New York. So if you’re in London, please come by and enjoy the concert, and see what happens. It’s going to be a nice, intimate thing.”

Erivo said that at the concert she will only be backed by piano; audiences can expect some of her favorite songs as well as some fan favorite tunes.
