Following two sold-out engagements in Los Angeles, Cruel Intentions: The Musical is set to make its New York premiere this February in a pop-up engagement at (Le) Poisson Rouge. The show, which features 90s hits, as well as songs from the cult film’s soundtrack, will play three performances only February 11, 13, and 14.
Cruel Intentions: The Musical is created by Jordan Ross and Lindsey Rosin. It features immersive stage direction by Rosin, with music direction and arrangements by Zach Spound.
Roger Kumble’s 1999 thriller, Cruel Intentions starred Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe as step siblings who play the ultimate game of seduction and revenge. The story is based on the 1782 French novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos: Les Liaisons Dangereuses, recently seen on Broadway in Christopher Hampton’s stage adaptation.
Cruel Intentions: The Musical debuted at The Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles in 2015, where it ran for 38 sold-out performances. It was remounted for a second sold-out run at LA’s Prospect Theatre in November 2016. During both engagements, the show featured a rotating cast of stars from film, television, and theatre, including: Katie Stevens (American Idol), Janel Parrish (Pretty Little Liars), Lindsay Pearce (Glee), Constantine Rousouli (Wicked), Emma Hunton (Freaky Friday), Shelley Regner (Pitch Perfect), Molly McCook (The Ranch), Brian Muller (The Good Wife), Christine Lakin (Veronica Mars), and more
Cruel Intentions: The Musical is produced by Sucker Love Productions with executive producer Eva Price.
