Christopher Hampton penned the translation of the Anton Chekhov play that will run Sept. 20-23 under the direction of Rosalind Ayres. Susan A. Loewenberg produces the engagement.
The complete casting includes Flockhart (Arkadina), Knight (Treplev), Matthews (Sorin), as well as Josh Stamberg (Trigorin), Stephen Collins (Dr. Dorn), Gordon Clapp (Shamrayev), Logan Fahey (Medvedenko) and Cindy Katz (Polina).
According to LATW, "Set on a country estate by a lake in 19th century Russia, the idyllic locale belies the turbulent passions of its inhabitants. When the famed but aging actress Irina Arkádina returns home with her younger lover, she finds a household overflowing with creativity, fantasies of fame, jealousy and unrequited love."
