Christine Pedi, seen on Broadway in Chicago and Talk Radio, plays Lady Bracknell in the Off-Broadway premiere of Alice Scovell's new play The Rewards of Being Frank, a sequel to Oscar Wilde’s comedy The Importance of Being Earnest.

Presented by New York Classical Theatre and Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, the limited engagement plays the Mezzanine Theatre at ART/New York Theatres March 3-26 with an official opening March 5. The production arrives in New York following its January 25–February 18 world premiere at Cincinnati Shakespeare.

Joining Pedi are Moboluwaji Ademide Akintilo (New York Classical’s The Importance of Being Earnest (Two Ways)) as Frank, James Evans (The McKittrick Hotel’s The Woman in Black) as Algernon, Kelly Mengelkoch as Gwendolyn, Tora Nogami Alexander (The Acting Company’s Twelfth Night) as Cecily, and Jeremy Dubin as Ernest.

The Rewards of Being Frank is set seven years after Wilde’s play. Stephen Burdman directs. 

The production also has scenic design by Samantha Reno, costume design by Rainy Edwards, lighting design by Justen N. Locke, sound design by Alex Brock, associate lighting design by Deborah Constantine, properties design by Kara Eble Trusty, casting by Stephanie Klapper, and voice/speech coaching by Sarah Summerwell. 

The production stage manager is Elizabeth Robinson, and the assistant stage manager is Madison Lane.
