The new musical is currently making its world premiere at London's Almeida Theatre.

London's Almeida Theatre presents the world premiere of Tammy Faye, a new musical about the late televangelist penned by Elton John, Jake Shears, and James Graham.

Directed by Artistic Director Rupert Goold, Tammy Faye A New Musical officially opened October 26 following previews that began October 14 for a limited engagement through December 3. Read reviews of the production here.

Olivier winner Katie Brayben (Beautiful) stars as Tammy Faye with Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon, Girls) as Jim, and Olivier nominee Zubin Varla (Fun Home) as Jerry Falwell.

The cast also includes Kelly Agbowu, Amy Booth-Steel, Colin Burnicle, Ashley Campbell, Peter Caulfield, Danny Collins, Richard Dempsey, Fred Haig, Georgia Louise, Robyn Rose, Nicholas Rowe, Martin Sarreal, Steve John Shepherd, and Gemma Sutton. The band features Alex Beetschen, Clive Dunstall, Mark Aspinall, Justin Morris, Danny Short, Nic Breakspear, and James Gambold.

Featuring music by John, lyrics by Shears, and a book by Graham, the production also has choreography by Lynne Page, design by Bunny Christie, costume design by Katrina Lindsay, lighting design by Neil Austin, sound design by Bobby Aitken, musical supervision, co-orchestrations, and arrangements by Tom Deering, co-orchestrations by Mark Dickman, video design by Finn Ross, musical direction by Alex Beetschen, casting by Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher, orchestral management by Justin Pearson, orchestral consulting by David Gallagher, props supervision by Lily Mollgaard, costume supervision by Karen Large, wigs, hair, and makeup supervision by Suzanne Scotcher, and dialect coaching by Brett Tyne.

The associate director is Sara Aniqah Malik with Tom Herron as the associate choreographer, Verity Sadler as the design associate, Sam Vincent as the sound associate, Henrique Ghersi as the video associate, and Richard Johnston as the associate casting director.
