Casting and a creative team have been revealed for La Jolla Playhouse's upcoming production of Eboni Booth's 2024 Pulitzer Prize-winning play Primary Trust

Knud Adams, who staged the work's Roundabout Theatre Company world premiere, will also direct the La Jolla production. Performances will run September 24-October 20 in the Mandell Weiss Forum. 

The cast will feature Caleb Eberhardt as Kenneth; Rebecca S’manga Frank (Love All) as Corinna and others; James Udom as Bert; James Urbaniak as Sam, Clay and others; and Luke Wygodny (Hundred Days) as Musician. Understudies Kirk Brown, Scott Striegel, and Dianne Yvette will complete the company. Casting is by tbd casting co.'s Stephanie Yankwitt and Jacole Kitchen.

“The moment I saw Primary Trust in New York, I knew I was witnessing something truly remarkable," Christopher Ashley, Rich Family Artistic Director of La Jolla Playhouse, said in a statement. "I felt immediately compelled to bring it to the Playhouse, and I can’t wait for San Diego audiences to experience Eboni Booth’s deeply touching, life-affirming play, in the hands of this stellar cast and creative team."

The creative team includes scenic designer Marsha Ginsburg, costume designer Sophia Choi, lighting designer Masha Tsimring, sound designer Mikaal Sulaiman, stage manager Dean Remington, and assistant stage manager Alexa Burn. The production will also feature original music by Luke Wygodny.
