Dungeons & Dragons The Twenty-Sided Tavern, the improvised quest play that let Off-Broadway audiences get in on the action, will launch a national tour July 18 at the EKU Center for the Arts in Richmond, Kentucky, before beginning a July 22-August 3 engagement at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. For additional cities, visit TheTwentysidedTavern.com/Tour.

The touring company will include NYC cast members Will Champion, RJ Christian, Jasmin Malave, Conner Marx, R. Alex Murray, Madelyn Murphy, Diego F. Salinas, Cassidy Sledge, and Alex Stompoly.

The play officially opened Off-Broadway at Stage 42 May 5, 2024, after beginning previews April 19. The year-long run concluded May 11, 2025.

Relying on audience participation, each performance is tailored to decisions made by audience members on their phones using patented software from Gamiotics. Audience members choose which characters will appear, which paths they will take, and which decisions they will make along the journey. The in-mobile-browser platform does not require any special equipment, instead running on audience members' phones. The Off-Broadway production united Hasbro, Curious Hedgehog, Showpath Entertainment, and Wizards of the Coast to bring the tabletop adventure game to the stage.

While the production appeals to Dungeons & Dragons players, knowledge of the tabletop role-play world is not required, as the structure of the game is communicated within the show.

Created by David Carpenter and Gamiotics, The Twenty-Sided Tavern's newest show, The Tomb of Havoc, is written by Carpenter and Michael Fell with additional contributions by Connor Marx. (Off-Broadway, Carpenter was joined by co-creators David Andrew Laws and Sarah Reynolds.)

Carpenter, who also produces with Showpath Entertainment Ltd, said in a statement, “I have had the extreme pleasure to spend the last year of my life with some of the most talented actors I've ever met during our run in NYC. It is a dream come true that the entire cast is taking their wit and whimsy and talent on national tour. They are some of the funniest people I have ever met and the heart and soul of this magical show. I hope the rest of the country comes to be as entertained and inspired by them as I am.”
