In the midst of the London Blitz—a German bombing campaign against the capital during World War II—a girl named Alice and her dear, ailing friend Alfred find refuge in an underground tube station. This is the setting for MCC Theater's new musical, Alice By Heart, the story of two teenagers who go down the rabbit hole of their favorite book in an attempt to escape their harsh reality.
Inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the new musical reunites the Tony- and Grammy-winning creators of Spring Awakening, Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, with director and co-writer Jessie Nelson (Waitress).
