On April 23, the sidewalks of Manhattan's West 49th St. will be covered with Grease! -- the musical, that is. To celebrate the re-opening of the rock 'n' roll musical Grease! at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, the show will hold a lunchtime block party outside the theatre.
Those attending the free festivities (complete with food, beverage and giveaways) will be able to hear live performances by the cast and a special appearance by Darlene Love doing "He's A Rebel." Also on tap will be Joe Piscopo as the deejay Vince Fontaine, and actress/gymnast Dominique Dawes.
The show's cast will arrive at the block party in a convertible at 1 PM, party down until 1:45, and then head inside for the 2 PM Wednesday matinee.
For tickets and information on Grease!, which reopened April 8, call (212) 239-6200.
