Broadway Licensing has acquired the stock and amateur performance rights for two musicals that have opened on Broadway this year: Summer: The Donna Summer Musical and Getting’ the Band Back Together.

The first continues to play Broadway’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, where LaChanze, Ariana DeBose, and Storm Lever play the disco icon at various points in her life and career. Colman Domingo, Robert Cary, and director Des McAnuff’s book incorporates hits from the Summer catalog, including “MacArthur Park,” “I Feel Love,” “On the Radio,” and “Hot Stuff.”

Getting’ the Band Back Together opened August 13 at the Belasco Theatre, playing 40 regular performances before closing September 16. Featuring a score by Mark Allen and a book by producer Ken Davenport and performance group The Grundleshotz, the musical tells the story of an out-of-work banker who decides to relive his glory days by reuniting his high school rock band.
