The 39 concerts, which include seven kids' matinees, will feature selections from the Pops' 2004 album
Sleigh Ride and other seasonal favorites. On December 29 and 30, the Pops will perform four concerts with the Von Trapp Family Singers; the Von Trapps, the great-grandchildren of the Captain von Trapp portrayed in
The Sound of Music, will perform songs from the film as well as folk and classical tunes.
The Pops season ends with a New Year's Eve event featuring a concert, dancing, and desserts.
Pops conductor Keith Lockhart, principal guest conductor Bruce Hangen, and other conductors will alternate on the podium.
Tickets are priced at $24 to $109 ($80 to $169 on New Year's Eve) and go on sale on October 24 at the Symphony Hall box office and October 25 at 888-266-1200 or www.bso.org.
