Here's how the work is described: "This morbidly entertaining musical by Winnipeg playwright-composer Joseph Aragon revisits the rise and fall of two Irish serial killers in 19th century Scotland who discover a case for business in selling their victims to anatomy schools."

Bloodless stars Theatre 20 founding artist Evan Buliung (Mirvish Productions' Lord of the Rings) as William Burke and Eddie Glen (West End's Miss Saigon and Joseph...) as William Hare with Jan Alexandra Smith (Neptune Theatre's Lost - A Memoir) as Margaret Hare, Trish Lindström (Stratford's The Tempest and Cabaret) as Helen McDougal, David Keeley (Mamma Mia!) as Dr. Robert Knox, Jeff Irving (Shaw's My Fair Lady) as Thomas Wharton Jones, Donnie Macphee (Stratford's Oliver!) as William Fergusson, Carly Street (Brief Encounter, Clybourne Park) as Janet Brown, Kaylee Harwood (Jesus Christ Superstar) as Mary Peterson, Sweeney Macarthur as Sir William Rae and Laura Jean Elligsen as Abigail Simpson. Jono Logan, Glen Mills and Amir Haidar complete the ensemble.

Other members of the creative team include artistic director Adam Brazier (Into the Woods), music director Jason Jestadt, sound designer Emily Porter, lighting designer Stephen Ross, set designer Beth Kates, costume designer Melanie McNeill, production consultant Paul Shaw, stage manager Carolyn Mykytyshyn, assistant stage manager Wilson Wong and associate director Linda Garneau, who provides movement.

Theatre 20 focuses on "developing and presenting original Canadian musicals as well as re-imagining existing repertoire from both the national and international canons."
