The solo piece performed by writer-director Rimalower (Joy, The Fabulous Life of a Size Zero) debuted at New York City's Duplex Aug. 30, 2012, under the direction of Aaron Mark.
Performances will now continue at the Duplex through June 29, marking the fifth extension of Rimalower's one-man work. In addition, Patti Issues will play Chicago, IL (June 13 at Mary's Attic); as well as Provincetown, MA (July 2-4, and Aug. 4 as a benefit for the Family Equality Council).
Patti Issues will also play select Friday nights from May 17-Aug. 9 in the Fire Island Pines at The Blue Whale and the Pavilion.
"I'm so thrilled Patti Issues is still going strong in New York and that I get to perform it in other cities too," Rimalower said in a statement to Playbill.com. "The fact that some of those places happen to be fabulous gay beach resorts–well, Tom Hanks isn't the only 'lucky guy' onstage this year!"
Rimalower also pens Playbill.com's weekly "Smash" Report, detailing the on-stage and off-stage drama of the NBC musical series. Read his latest installment here.
Rimalower earned a Bistro Award for Best Solo Play for Patti Issues. He has also directed Snoopy! starring Sutton Foster; Justin Sayre Is Alive And Well… Writing; Project Lohan; Sodom the Musical; and Night Of A Thousand Judys. He also conceived and directed Leslie Kritzer is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches.
