Anastasia celebrated the launch of its national tour with a glam photoshoot with photographer Matthew Murphy at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The production, which stars Lila Coogan as Anya, opened October 23 in Schenectady, New York, before heading out on its 30-city national tour.
Anastasia, the stage adaptation of the 1997 animated musical film, features a score by Tony Award winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty with a book by Tony-winning playwright Terrence McNally. Ahrens and Flaherty, who were nominated for the Academy Award for the film's song “Journey to the Past,” expanded their score for the Broadway premiere.

In addition to Coogan, the production stars Stephen Brower as Dmitry, Jason Michael Evans as Gleb, Joy Franz as Dowager Empress, Tari Kelly as Countess Lily, Edward Staudenmayer as Vlad, and Victoria Amelia Bingham as Little Anastasia.
Rounding out the cast are Brianna Abruzzo, Ronnie S. Bowman Jr., Alison Ewing, Peter Garza, Jeremiah Ginn, Brett-Marco Glauser, Lucy Horton, Mary Illes, Fred Inkley, Kourtney Keitt, Beth Stafford Laird, Mark MacKillop, Kenneth Michael Murray,Taylor Quick, Claire Rathbun, Michael McCorry Rose, Matt Rosell, Sareen Tchekmedyian, and Addison Mackynzie Valentino.
The Broadway production of Anastasia continues to play at the Broadhurst Theatre, starring Christy Altomare.
