Penned by Nick Salamone (Gulls, Hillary Agonistes), Sea Change, according to press notes, "takes place entirely on a small fishing vessel off the coast of Massachusetts. Five college friends — three gay men and two lesbians — set sail on a whale-watching expedition in the summer of '74. The play traces the odyssey of their lives and the survival of their love for one another through the last quarter of the 20th century." Jon Lawrence Rivera (Dogeaters, Hillary Agonistes) directs the world premiere that runs Sept. 19-Oct. 12.
Allen is known for his television work on "St. Elsewhere," "Our House," "My Two Dads" and "Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman." On stage he has appeared in The Little Dog Laughed, Biloxi Blues, Change at Babylon and Temporary Help as well as in the Los Angeles premiere of Corpus Christi. His film credits include "End of the Spear," "Downtown: A Street Tale," "Do You Wanna Know a Secret" and "Getting Out."
