Garber's Hello, Dolly! co-star Bernadette Peters was the 2016 recipient of the award, which goes to an individual whose achievements in the art form and generosity to the community merit special recognition.

The 74th annual ceremony, hosted by Peter Filichia, will be held June 4 at the Circle in the Square. As the theatre is currently home to the Tony-nominated Broadway revival of Once On This Island, the Awards have announced that the attire for the 2 PM event will be “festive island” wear.

Recipients of the Outstanding Performance Award, given to those with marked New York stage debuts, as well as the Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in Theatre, will be announced at a later date.

A reception at the Copacabana Rooftop will follow the ceremony.
