Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents Irving Berlin's White Christmas, which is based on the 1954 film of the same name and officially opens Dec. 13, following previews that began Dec. 11, at the Kennedy Center Opera House.

Directed by Norb Joerder, the limited engagement continues through Jan. 6, 2013.

James Clow, who starred as Bob Wallace in White Christmas on Broadway, reprises his performance for the Kennedy Center. He is joined by David Elder (Curtains) as Phil Davis, Stefanie Morse (White Christmas) as Betty Haynes, Mara Davi (White Christmas, A Chorus Line) as Judy Haynes, Ruth Williamson (White Christmas, La Cage aux Folles) as Martha Watson, Tony Lawson (Les Misérables) as Ralph Sheldrake, Kilty Reidy (The Drowsy Chaperone) as Mike Nulty, Joe Costa as General Waverly, Cliff Bemis (White Christmas) as Ezekial Foster, and Shannon Harrington and Andie Mechanic (The People in the Picture) as Susan Waverly.

Rounding out the ensemble are Darien Crago, Abby Church, Brandon Davidson, Lucas Fedele, Alexa Glover, Andrew Hodge, Drew Humphrey, Bryan Hunt, Megan Kelley, Kathryn Kendall, Kristyn Pope, Christopher Rice, Natasha Scearse, Krista Severeid, Kelly Sheehan, Kristen J. Smith, Andrew Black and Lea Kohl.

The musical, according to producers, "tells the story of two showbiz buddies putting on a show in a picturesque Vermont inn, and finding their perfect mates in the bargain."

White Christmas features music and lyrics by Irving Berlin with a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. The score includes classics such as "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep," "Happy Holiday," "Sisters," "Blue Skies" and the title song, among others. Other members of the creative team include choreographer Randy Skinner, scenic designer Anna Louizos, sound designer Peter Fitzgerald, lighting designer Ken Billington and Kenneth Foy, who provides scenic supervision and adaptation.

White Christmas is produced by Atlanta's Theater of the Stars; the tour is produced by agreement with R&H Theatricals.
