Anastasia star Christy Altomare appeared on the Today Show April 26 as part of the morning program’s Best of Broadway week. Altomare performed the show’s signature song, “Journey to the Past”—featuring a live orchestra—during the segment.

The expanded stage production features a score by Tony Award winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty and an all-new book by Tony winner Terrence McNally.
The Broadway production features Altomare as Anya, Derek Klena as Dmitry, John Bolton as Vlad, Caroline O’Connor as Lily, Ramin Karimloo as Gleb, and Mary Beth Peil as Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna.
Here’s how it’s billed: “This dazzling show transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920’s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing con man and a lovable ex-aristocrat.
